How to Meditate Without Even Trying

While trying harder may help with many day-to-day tasks, with meditation trying harder makes the mind more tense, which defeats the very purpose of meditation. Once you cease making an effort, the mind will settle down naturally into a state of quiet.
The course takes you from basic practices of being present to some of the advanced techniques that Peter Russell has been teaching in recent years. They are simple to apply, but profoundly effective.
The Full Course is available on a "Pay What You Wish" basis.

Evolution is Not an Illness

Evolution is Not an Illness

Personally I think there is grave danger in treating the symptoms of kundalini arousal with psychiatric drugs and other forms of suppression such as stodgy food. Since the metamorphic symptoms represent a dismantling, purification and strengthening at work, it is these functions that should be supported and encouraged. Thus our intent must be to go-into and work-with the process, rather than fight it in the effort to remain bound to the pupael bodymind. Understanding the psycho-biology of the transformation is vital to navigating the storms of this greatest of upheavals.

Kundalini is the raising of the energy of the body in an alchemical process of spiritual emergence of the higher self. The medical world do not yet know what they are dealing with in kundalini. They do not know that a hyperactivated sympathetic is going to eventually flip into a  hyperactivated parasympathetic...and that we need soothing reassuring conditions not drugs. The cycles must be left alone to take us through our heights and depths. If we get tranquilized during an up-phase then it will just flatten the energy extremes and dull the mind, so we will not get any benefit from the alchemy, but instead will be spiritually impaired instead. Kundalini can take us to the limits of our energetic and emotional endurance...this is as it supposed to be. If tranquilizers are used instead of allowing the energy to do its cleansing and restructuring then chances are we will just go into an extended depression instead of a spiritual awakening. The same goes for antidepressants and anesthetics as well...however there might be the occasion where these things might be necessary in an emergency.

The medical world also need to be familiar with Dr Batmanghelidj's understanding of hydration and blood pressure; along with the understanding that the high blood pressure of sympathetic activation does not need to be medicated, nor does the low blood pressure when things shift over to parasympathetic dominance. Medically messing around with current symptoms without considering the cyclic nature of kundalini will simply abort any growth potential inherent in the metamorphic process. Imagine trying to stop a chrysalis from dissolving because you are ignorant of the butterfly about to be created...that is what medical meddling is. We must understand the hyperbolic nature of kundalini and support all phases in the fullness of their process rather than trying to counteract each extreme to bring it back to normal physiology and so prevent the butterfly from forming altogether.

Digestion takes the most amount of energy of any activity. The reason we overeat is because we have not "planned" our life and directed our energy toward achievable goals. Thus we "eat our energy" rather than send it forth in self development and achievement. If we are not moving forward, we tend to hold ourselves back! There is a much better way of working with the symptoms than snuffing them out by diverting energy to digestion. Since the difficult symptoms we experience are due to kundalini working its way through deformations, it doesn't make sense to "reduce" the fire. Instead as these blockages arise we should be aiding the fire in its work "through" the miasmas. For example if angst (choking in the narrows) is occurring in the throat, then toning, mantra, singing and humming greatly helps to relieve the pain and pressure. Clarifying one's truth and relationships should be done at this time. Writing poems from each of the charkas might help the flow of energy through the body. Meditation should be shifted from the third eye to the crown chakra. Gestalt and all forms of artistic expression will help the throat clear. Spontaneous music, drumming and dance are especially helpful in clearing the throat chakra.
And as with any kundalini difficulty, the digestive system should be thoroughly cleansed whenever an obstinate symptom arises. A juice fast of moderate duration is an ideal first line of approach in dealing with any miasma that is up for us. Fasting will generally increase metamorphosis and speed evolution; but do not water fast during kundalini for the liver needs all the glutathione it can get. There are solutions to every problem whether it be excessive sex energy, headaches, heat, confusion, radical heart pressure, pain or numbness in the tissues.
Generally the line of approach for difficulties should go something like this:
  1. Inquire internally as to the nature of the problem

  2. Stop the bad habits (samskaras)

  3. Detoxification and juice fasting

  4. Increase energy and breathing

  5. Calm and soothe energy, toning, yoga, meditation

  6. Strengthen tissues nutritionally

  7. Exercise tissues physically (O2)

  8. Use light, sound, touch, vibration, nature and inquiry-meditation

  9. Focus, concentrate, refine, strengthen use of the area

  10. Integrate the part more fully into the whole

An Introduction to the Universal Fractal Scaling Laws

"The Unified Harmonic Dimensional Matrix emerged from a series of visions that vividly reflected the interconnectedness of all things on all levels of existence. In these visions, I witnessed a single Eye connected through layers and layers of systems, becoming an entire Body. The Body was just one part of the land around it, woven through food, water, and Sun into the fabric of life. This fabric forms whole Continents, and each Continent in turn weaves together to form the whole Earth.

I witnessed the Earth in an interwoven dance with the Moon and other planets around the Sun, and the Sun in turn flowing in sync with other stars around the Milky Way Galaxy. The Galaxy itself is traveling in a web with other Galaxies that form our Virgo Galactic Cluster, and that cluster dances with countless others across the expanding Universe.

The Universe I saw, is one of many Universes, forming threads of energy that weave through a fractaline Infinitiverse, those threads becoming geometric structures that eventually form even larger toroidal flows that connect in spherical coherence. I saw these spheres clustered, surrounded by many colors and vibrations of light, Electrons around the Nucleus of an Atom. The Atoms dance in interwoven chains as electromagnetic waves pass from one to another along a helical spiral that becomes DNA. Chains of DNA weave spiral after spiral layer around protein spheres that become Chromosomes, and these in turn radiate energy webs like Galaxies in a cluster that are surrounded by the Nuclear Membrane in the core of a Cell, an entire Universe of life in itself.
Organelles form patterns around the Nucleus, finally forming structures that complete the whole Cell, which is then braided in interwoven patterns to form Tissues. The Tissues interconnect with pattern and purpose to form a whole Organ, which I saw as the Human Eye, interconnected with the rest of the neurological system and the other Organ Systems of the Body. Finally, as all these connect together, you have the whole Body, another complete Universe of life, energy, and information.

After years of research, I realized that there is a natural organization to these dimensional layers of the Universe, in which there is a sort of coherence across lines of scale that mirror the processes of our consciousness. The following is an introduction to this research and my visual expressions of this understanding, integrating and explaining the Unified Harmonic Dimensional Matrix through a description of what might be called the Ray of Creation, and numerological progressions.

In the video below, I explore the Unified Harmonic Matrix in depth. The following graphic illustrates each of the dimensional layers and corresponding geometries, and the exposition following covers each of the numerological steps in the Ray of Creation that produces the fractal matrix of space-time."

Dreamflesh Library + An Interview with Donal Ruane on Ayahuasca

Explore the library by keyword

The following interview with Donal Ruane was conducted in May 2006 by Gyrus, and was first published in Dreamflesh Journal Vol. 1.
Gyrus: What strikes you as unique about the experience of ayahuasca?
Donal: It’s a difficult question to answer, as I get more experienced. The reason being that my experience ofayahuasca varies according to who I drink it with, and the brew. It appears to me that how the brews are made, and the additives that are used, and the set and setting in which it is consumed, very much alter the experience.
Last year in Iquitos I had a session with an Indian shaman from the Witoto tribe—a very interesting tribe who have had an awful history of exploitation and abuse, by colonists and by missionaries, who have devastated their belief systems and their way of life. They feature heavily in Wade Davis’ book, One River. I didn’t know much about them until I met this shaman, Don Mariano. He’s from Columbia, along the Rio Negro I think, one of the tributaries of the Amazon. He’s sixty-four years old, and he first started training to be a shaman, dieting with ayahuasca, at eight years of age. So he’s been drinking for a long, long time.
His ayahuasca was very different from the other brews I’ve drunk. My experiences are mainly with two types ofayahuasca. Initially it was with the Church of the Santo Daime, and then later I started to drink with Peruvian shamans.
Now after drinking regularly with the Santo Daime for a few years I started to feel increasingly restricted. I felt the experience itself and the brew itself was controlled and there was pressure to conform to their particular model and ultimately to become a member. The church itself was founded by Raimundo Ireneu, a black rubber trapper, after a period spent drinking ayahuasca in the jungle where he received instructions to found the church from a female spirit who he associated with the Virgin Mary. Ironically enough, Ireneu himself was probably initiated into the use of ayahuasca by a Peruvian mestizo shaman. Of course, the Santo Daime only works within a certain spectrum of what is possible with ayahuasca. This is not necessarily such a bad idea; ayahuasca has the ability to manifest some pretty dangerous phenomena. Let’s say that of all the hallucinogens it is one of the more unpredictable.
Don’t get me wrong, I am enormously grateful to the church. However, as is often the case with such matters, a synchronicity nudged me in another direction. The day I bought the book Ayahuasca Visions I also met Pablo Amaringo for the first time, coincidentally, in a London art gallery where I had gone to meet a friend. Out of that initial meeting, my friendship with Pablo developed so much so, that I decided to visit him in his hometown, Pucallpa, four months later. During that first visit, while talking to Pablo, I realised there was a lot more to learn about ayahuasca than I could possibly learn in the context of the church. The ritual use of ayahuasca in the Upper Amazon region has developed over millennia into a sophisticated science, a plant alchemy with a remarkable mythology of its own.
Now there is a big difference between the Santo Daime brew and the traditional ayahuasca drunk by shamans in Peru—it’s a lot less visionary and isn’t as purging. You don’t enter the remarkable visionary realm, and you don’t get the ‘drunkenness’ which you normally associate with ayahuasca in Peru, which they call mareación—a Spanish word which translates as ‘sea-sickness’…
This is what William Burroughs talked about as “the motion-sickness of time travel”…

Mastering Your Powers: Sacred Sexuality: the Tantric & Related Colors

Tantra, also called Tantrism and Tantric religion, is an ancient Hindu tradition of beliefs and meditation and ritual practices that seeks to channel the divine energy of the macrocosm or godhead into the human microcosm,[1] in order to attain siddhis and moksha. It arose in India no later than the 5th century CE,[2] and had a strong influence on both Hinduism and Buddhism. -wiki

Neotantra, navatantra (Sanskrit: नव, nava 'new') or tantric sex, is the modern, western variation of tantra often associated with new religious movements. This includes both New Age and modern Western interpretations of traditional Hindu and Buddhist tantra. Some of its proponents refer to ancient and traditional texts and principles,[1][2] and many others use tantra as a catch-all phrase for "sacred sexuality", and may incorporate unorthodox practices. In addition, not all of the elements of Indian tantric practices are used in neotantra, in particular the reliance on a guru parampara. -wiki

Sri Yantra diagram with the Ten Mahavidyas. The triangles represent Shiva and Shakti, the snake represents Spanda and Kundalini.
Many have heard of Tantra but are unfamiliar with it and its benefits. Some have heard it makes sex better. That is true but that is not all Tantra is about. Tantra literally means to expand. To expand your mind, body, and spirit. To use your powerful sexual energy to embrace life. To use it to heal old wounds and thought patterns. Most people in our society have been raised with negative attitudes towards sex. Whether raised religious or just conservative, most were brought up to feel that all thoughts of being pure sexual beings were not natural and were wrong. Many of us have been affected by child abuse, rape, or just harsh criticism by ones who love us. How could this not result in negative inner feelings about sexual energy and its power?
Lets start to change that mindset!

"That there is actually three types of Tantric Yoga.  One is White Tantric Yoga that can remove the garbage from your subconscious mind, which blocks you from seeing your real self.  It does involve the male & female energy, and does not involve sexual intercourse, nor do you take off your clothes.  The second is Red Tantric and directs the energy for sensual purposes.  And the third is Black Tantric that directs the energy to manipulate another human being.  All other forms of Tantra, are an offshoot of this."        -Yogi Bhajan

"
Tantra does not mean to expand a man's six inches into twelve inches.  There is a lot more to life, then a ten to twenty second orgasm between the legs.
...
Even today, many people still don't fully realize what tantra truly is.  They look at a book called the Kama Sutra, at all those sexual positions, and think that is Tantra or Tantric Yoga."

"Though a man may be six feet tall, most men are ruled by their six inches."-Yogi Bhajan
"Sexual intercourse is not a relationship between his penis and her vagina.  It is total merger of their polarities, auras, spirits and consciousness.  Appreciating and respecting this can bring a blissful merger for both on the highest spiritual levels.  "Sex is a sacred act, created by God, which if done consciously, can take the couple straight to God."  [Whatever our concept of God is, it will take us to that concept.]
-"Sexuality As A Sacred Meditation," by S.S. Guru Terath Kaur Khalsa Ph.D.
"You should have your three nervous systems in balance before you start intercourse.  If the parasympathetic nervous system is out of balance, the man will have difficulty getting an erection.  If his sympathetic nervous system is out of action, he will ejaculate quickly.  If your action nervous system is out of balance, he will have a problem ejaculating at all.  Kundalini Yoga corrects these problems."-Yogi BhajanClic

Are you more Astrologically Feminine or Masculine?

Take a look at the signs that make up your entire astrological chart. Look at all of your planets' signs to get an overall view of how many are in masculine versus feminine signs. You may use the test below to determine if you are mostly masculine or feminine in your overall astrological composition. Take the time to complete the test. Many people are surprised to find they are actually more masculine or feminine than they thought. Most often, we identify with only our sun sign to get a sense of whether we are more masculine or feminine. This can be deceiving. Sometimes the sun sign is overwhelmed by the other signs in your chart. A masculine sun sign, for example, can be overwhelmed by a moon and other planets in feminine signs, or vice versa.

OSHO

“Life begins where fear ends.”
― Osho

Osho pronunciation (help·info),(11 December 1931 – 19 January 1990), born Chandra Mohan Jain, and also known as Acharya Rajneesh from the 1960s onwards, as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh pronunciation (help·info), during the 1970s and 1980s and as Osho from 1989, was an Indian mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher who garnered an international following.

“If you love a flower, don’t pick it up.
Because if you pick it up it dies and it ceases to be what you love.
So if you love a flower, let it be.
Love is not about possession.
Love is about appreciation.”
― Osho

“Experience life in all possible ways --
good-bad, bitter-sweet, dark-light,
summer-winter. Experience all the dualities.
Don't be afraid of experience, because
the more experience you have, the more
mature you become.”
― Osho

“There are so many condemnations of feeling and of the heart that naturally one becomes afraid of feelings. One starts learning how to cut off feelings and slowly the heart is simply bypassed; one goes directly to the head. Slowly the heart becomes nothing but an organ that pumps the blood, purifies the blood, and that’s all.”

Jesus's Path through the Zodiac

Pisces (The Fish)
Shortly after the sun is in Aquarius, it moves into the zodiacal sign of Pisces. Pisces is symbolized by two fish. Thus we would expect to see Jesus’ ministry representing something to do with two fish. This is exactly the case, for shortly after John’s baptism (Aquarius the Water Bearer), Jesus finds two disciples, Simon and Andrew, who are fisherman.
“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers” (Matthew 4:18).
Another interesting point to be made here is the Greek meaning of “Galilee;” Strong’s Concordance states that it means the “heathen circle.” If you remember my first post on the Zodiac and the Bible, I showed you how Job and Psalms mentions scriptures that show God told his story in the stars by the “circle” of the Zodiac.
You should also note that the Pope wears a mitre, which is in the shape of a fish, correlating to Pisces.
Overall Pisces, one of the three water signs, represents purity and self sacrifice. Jesus certainly represents both, and since the sun and Jesus both represent the human soul on its journey to enlightenment, they show us that we are meant to become pure from the defilement of the ego. Self sacrifice, or the act of sacrificing our own egos, is the game here.
If you look at the life of Simon Peter, one of the two fish that Jesus found at the beginning of his ministry, you’ll notice that he is always struggling with the ego. He denies Jesus (the egoless) and Jesus even had to tell him “Get thee behind me, Satan.” Satan is also the ego in us, and Jesus was telling Peter that his ego was trying to block the true self from the expression of love (which the true self is).
Finally, we should also note that the two fish in the sign of Pisces are swimming in opposite directions of one another. Again, the ego is always at odds with the true self. But once the sign is completed by the sun (and Jesus’ ministry), we know the ego can finally be completely sacrificed.
(...)
Aries (The RAM), Taurus (The Bull), Gemini (The Twins), Cancer (The Crab), Leo (The Lion)
(...)
What does this knowledge mean to us?
As I have said before, Jesus’ life as it is related to the sun’s travels through the zodiac is a depiction of the soul’s birth and death on the physical plane as it relates to attaining Christ consciousness. It is the plan of salvation for every human being should they choose to undertake the journey of crucifying their ego.
We must also remember that the Gospel stories depict Jesus’ ministry as taking place in one year. The sun travels through the 12 houses of the Zodiac in one year. Coincidence? I think not. Remember, even Enoch, another Christ figure and type was taken by God at 365 years old. 365 days represents the completion of the solar year.
With all the Zodiacal signs complete we can see a rebirth of the physical man into a spiritual man. This is the goal for anyone undertaking the advanced spiritual journey. I wish you the best as you undertake your own!

"Can one blissful moment change your life? Producer Andy Mills introduces us to Reverend Mike Young, a man who can pinpoint a pivotal handful of minutes in the 1960s that he claims did just that. As a college student, he was part of a study in which theology students were given psilocybin (a.k.a. magic mushrooms) in a church basement during a Good Friday service. This might seem ridiculous, and in fact, it wasn't long after that the use of these kinds of drugs for both science and recreation was banned. Nonetheless, we follow our curiosity to some current psilocybin experiments that demonstrate the powerful and surprising effects of psychedelic drugs."

A specific kind of magic mushrooms -- like all mushrooms -- require a specific habitat (soil, vegatation, climate, available nutrition, animals around, etcetera) in specific climate zone. And what's more it will only fruit ( becoming a real mushroom from the mycelium ) a few months of the year. So - before you start the hunt - you have to know what kind of magic mushroom you are looking for and determine where and when to look for them. Nothing Is Solid & Everything Is Energy – Scientists Explain The World of Quantum Physics

A fundamental conclusion of the new physics also acknowledges that the observer creates the reality. As observers, we are personally involved with the creation of our own reality. Physicists are being forced to admit that the universe is a “mental” construction. Pioneering physicist Sir James Jeans wrote: “The stream of knowledge is heading toward a non-mechanical reality; the universe begins to look more like a great thought than like a great machine. Mind no longer appears to be an accidental intruder into the realm of matter, we ought rather hail it as the creator and governor of the realm of matter. (R. C. Henry, “The Mental Universe”; Nature 436:29, 2005)

the Meditative Mind

Meditation is a three step process that leads to a state of consciousness that brings serenity, clarity, and bliss. As depicted in the first illustration, our "normal" state of mind is actually quite abnormal. We receive sensory stimuli and react in a completely uncontrolled way (although we tell ourselves we have great control). We bounce from one thought to another and follow with our emotional and physical reactions. The same thought can bring about diametrically opposite reactions at different times. For instance, we may see a dog and then start a thought process that reminisces about a pet dog we once had and loved. Emotionally, we then start feeling all warm and cuddly; physically, we feel very relaxed. Another time, we may see the same dog and fear it may attack us and start thinking paranoid thoughts, get fearful and uptight physically.
The second illustration demonstrates Concentration. This is the first step in Meditation and is the start of gaining control over the mind and thereby life. The procedure is deceptively simple and seems like it would be very easy to do, but there are few tasks more difficult to master. The idea is to pick an object/subject to place your attention on and then to focus exclusively on it without diversion.

I realized today that in all my posts regarding the brain and how to sculpt it with mindfulness, I’ve never actually explained how and why meditation works. Specifically, the science behind how your brain changes the longer you meditate. I think this is important for many reasons, but one of the most salient is that this information serves as a great motivator to keep up a daily practice (or start one).
I’m sure you’ve heard people extol the virtues of meditation. You may be skeptical of the claims that it helps with all aspects of life. But, the truth is, it does. Sitting every day, for at least 15-30 minutes, makes a huge difference in how you approach life, how personally you take things and how you interact with others. It enhances compassion, allows you to see things more clearly (including yourself) and creates a sense of calm and centeredness that is indescribable. There really is no substitute.
